Past Consulting Cases
High Power Battery Charger Monitoring Test Stand
Design of an automated test stand for comparing the performance of two different types of golf-cart battery chargers. The test stand automatically powered on each charger while monitoring their input and output power usage to determine overall efficiency.
Bluetooth Lighting Control and iOS App for LED Photography Light
Design of a compact, Bluetooth USB control adapter, which was retrofitted into the end user’s photography light unit. An iOS app was also designed for controlling up to 20 units. A total of 10,000 units were mass produced with the Bluetooth USB module upgrade.
High Voltage Power Supply for Electronically Operated Window Shade
Design of a compact, 800V multi-stage power converter for driving capacitive loads for an electronic window shade application. The power supply employed silicon carbide power processing circuitry to provide programmable constant output current, with adjustable output voltage polarity.
RDS Programmable Receiver for Humanitarian Aid Application
Design of a set of long-range, low-power radio receivers for playback of pre-recorded audio messages. The microcontroller and RDS radio receiver system received commands from a remote transmitter to automatically update message and other system parameters.
Wireless Transceivers For Low Power Munitions Application
Development of a set of compact, 2.4 GHz wireless transceiver modules for transmitting munition statistics using a proprietary wireless communications protocol for short range data transmission.
